Resistance Training is the application of studies in physiology, functional anatomy, biomechanics, and neurological motor control. We study the acute physiological responses and chronic adaptations to stimulus (stress), nutrient-energy intake & metabolism, skill acquisition, and physiological systems involved in sub-maximal and maximal human movement.

Clinical Exercise Physiologists have extensive studies of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, exercise physiology, exercise & sports psychology, functional anatomy, neurology, motor control for skill acquisition, and more. We use these fields of scientific studies to improve on the work by Joseph Pilates.
The reformer and trapeze table are modified beds invented in post World War 1 to help rehabilitate injured veterans. Great pieces of equipment that today are used for Resistance training and have significant clinical use for Rehabilitation.
